The Poynter Dorset flock was established in 1970 with major purchases from the Ross, Roach, LaRosh, Worthington and Harlan Wagner families. The Poynter flock is known for big, correct, high volume sheep with style. The Poynter's are very proud of the accomplishments of the sheep they have sold to major breeders across the country. Poynter genetics have influenced such flocks as Stony Point, Ghiselin, Cardinal Creek, Riverwood, Mithoefer, Bradford, Penn State, Dew Drop, Crome and Comforts, just to name a few. The Poynter flock practices line breeding with their 30 select ewes and maybe that is the reason they perform so well for other people when outside bloodlines are introduced. We are located only 15 miles North of I-70.
